• Fed4FIRE+ experiments successfully completed (September 2020)

The MMT-IoT project has focused on testing one of the principal solutions that Montimage has developed for monitoring the security of IoT networks. This solution allows capturing packets directly from 6LowPAN-enabled networks (IEEE 802.15.4 protocol) to perform real-time traffic analysis, statistics extraction, topology reconstruction, and security violation/anomaly detection. The figure shows how to detect a misbehaving node performing DoS attack.

The solution has been deployed and tested on two Fed4FIRE+ platforms: w-iLab.t provided by Imec and Log-a-Tec provided by the Jožef Stefan Institute. These experiments have been decisive for raising the maturity level of the MMT-IoT solution and, thus, provide a more holistic view of the market potentials of the solution.

  • SANCUS Kickoff Meeting (Virtual, 10, 11 September 2020)

As a participant in the project, Montimage participated in the kickoff meeting of H2020 SANCUS which was organized virtually due to the COVID-19 situation. The project involves 15 Partners from 8 European countries, and aims to design and develop an analySis software scheme of uNiform statistiCal sampling, aUdit and defence proceSses (SANCUS – an Roman god of trust). The main idea draws on formalising the logic of expressing (for the first time) the notions of cyber security and digital privacy by means of final formulas and fuse them into optimisation strategies to acquire the truly optimum defence recommendation in dynamic manner, i.e., with respect to the runtime changes of the telecommunications network environment. In this respect, SANCUS will dimension new inclusive Key Performance Indicator metric, namely, the security-vs-privacy-vs-reliability efficiency trade-off, for measuring the system network cybersecurity and privacy performance explicitly, flexibly, automatically and agnostically.
