As part of the ENSURE-6G Staff Exchange Programme, I recently started my secondment at Montimage in Paris.

My current work looks at RRC Signalling Storm attacks in a 5G O-RAN environment. These attacks overload the network by abusing control-plane procedures and are notoriously hard to spot. Using Netslab's 5G O-RAN testbed, we’ve been capturing both radio-level signals and network traffic, then turning that raw data into structured datasets for AI/ML-based analysis.

One thing that really stood out during this secondment is how closely the collected data aligns with the capabilities of the Montimage Monitoring Tool (MMT). Seeing multi-layer traffic analysis, event correlation, and historical views in practice reinforced something that’s easy to overlook in AI research: good models start with good monitoring and good data.
