QUATIC 2020 (8 September - 11 September 2020)
MONTIMAGE participated to the 13th International Conference on the Quality of Information and Communications Technology (QUATIC). QUATIC serves as a forum for disseminating advanced methods, techniques and tools for supporting quality approaches to ICT engineering and management. Practitioners and researchers are encouraged to exchange ideas and approaches on how to adopt a quality culture in ICT process and product improvement and to provide practical studies in varying contexts..

SANCUS Virtual Kickoff Meeting (10, 11 September 2020)
As a participant in the project, Montimage participated in the kickoff meeting of H2020 SANCUS which was organized virtually due to the COVID-19 situation. The project involves 15 Partners from 8 European countries, and aims to design and develop an analySis software scheme of uNiform statistiCal sampling, aUdit and defence proceSses (SANCUS – an Roman god of trust).

The main idea draws on formalising the logic of expressing (for the first time) the notions of cyber security and digital privacy by means of final formulas and fuse them into optimisation strategies to acquire the truly optimum defence recommendation in dynamic manner, i.e., with respect to the runtime changes of the telecommunications network environment. In this respect, SANCUS will dimension new inclusive Key Performance Indicator metric, namely, the security-vs-privacy-vs-reliability efficiency trade-off, for measuring the system network cybersecurity and privacy performance explicitly, flexibly, automatically and agnostically.
PUZZLE Virtual Kickoff Meeting (7, 8 September 2020)
The PUZZLE Kick-off took place virtually. This project plans to design and implement a state-of-the-art highly usable cybersecurity, privacy and data protection management framework targeted at SMEs and cybersecurity providers.

Montimage will provide and adapt its monitoring framework for the security and performance analysis of network traffic, and application and system traces to be integrated in the Advanced Cybersecurity Analytics Service and Network Security functions. Montimage will also contribute to the Cyber Range platform, application of machine learning techniques to enhance the PUZZLE framework with situational awareness and intelligent decision-making capabilities.
Successfully completed the SYNAPSE Challenge CARTIMIA
Montimage together with R2CSystem and the Laboratoire ICube lab of the University of Strasbourg (UNISTRA) was selected among many to carry out the SYNAPSE Challenge proposed by the DRM (Ministère des Armées - Direction du Renseignement Militaire) and the CAP-DIGITAL cluster. The project was successfully completed and favourably valued by the DRM (the winner of the Challenge will be announced shortly). The result was the CARTIMIA platform (CARTographie d’Internet Multisource basé sur l’IA - Multisource and AI-based Internet mapping).
CARTIMIA (that will start to be commercialised in 2021) is a platform for recuperating data from different sources (e.g. BGP and traceroute datasets, own Montimage’s probes) to map the physical and logical topology of the global Internet, and detect anomalies such as: hijacking, AS-path changes, failures/outages, Command & Control Bot activity, DDoS and scan activity.
